FAQ | Sprinkler & Lawn Irrigation

I’ve never owned a sprinkler system before and have no idea how it works. Is it complicated to operate?

Not at all. Illiana Lawn Irrigation will find the simplest and most efficient solutions to meet its client’s needs, and after the new installation is complete, the home or business owner will be shown everything they need to know to operate the controller for functions.

Will a new sprinkler system last, or is it something I’ll need to replace in a couple of years?

With normal use, most sprinkler systems will last for many years and require minimal repairs and maintenance. At Illiana Lawn Irrigation we use only the highest quality products available today. We use mainly products from Hunter, one of the top manufacturers of irrigation equipment.

Will installing a sprinkler system ruin my landscaping?

Our experienced crew will install your new irrigation system with minimal disruption to your existing landscape. Using modern installation equipment, you’ll hardly know we’ve been on site, except that you'll now enjoy your landscaping and lawn even more because of controlled irrigation and properly watered lawns and gardens.

What will a sprinkler system cost?

Installation costs will vary depending on the size of the job and what your specific needs are. Request your free estimate any time via the handy “Contact Us” tab on this website or by calling 708-753-0600.

Why is it necessary to winterize an irrigation system?

A. In regions of the country where the frost level extends below the depth of the installed piping, winterizing is important maintenance. Water remaining in systems can freeze, expand and crack the PVC piping. “Blowing out” the system is a simple procedure which reduces the risk of freeze damage to your irrigation system.

Why should I invest in Landscape Lighting?

Landscape lighting not only provides added beauty to your property; it increases safety by providing well-lit space around pools, spas, decks, and walkways, and can also be a deterrent for burglary and other crime. The curb appeal of quality landscape lighting can also increase your property’s value.

What is backflow testing?

Backflow is the flow of contaminants into the public water supply distribution system from a source other than the public water supply. The State of Indiana governs cross connection control and backflow prevention through the Indiana Administrative Code and requires that only trained, certified and licensed professionals administer backflow testing. Illiana Lawn Irrigation has the necessary qualifications to legally provide this service.
